Christ Appearing to the Disciples

This etching is the original of the enlargement at the beginning of the exhibition. Rembrandt forsook his experimentation with the living model for a visionary approach, following the Bible here: “[the apostles] thought they saw a ghost.” The risen Christ is revealing his glory to his disciples.
